Kindhearted Kids

Ages:  7-9
Program Length:  5 - 1 Hour Lessons (may be split into 10 lessons)
Schools:  For Classroom Teachers and School Counselors

The Kindhearted Kids Electronic Curriculum Guide is set-up for school counselors and classroom teachers to easily instruct through an electronic platform with direct access to materials. The five, free-standing lessons are specifically and explicitly designed to enhance students' social and emotional skills. Lessons also include academic integration to provide opportunities to practice and apply the SEL skills through the care of a stuffed cat or dog. This is where the magic begins...children are captivated by their pet, igniting their imagination and hearts, thus learning takes root!

What to Expect

Throughout a five week (or five day) simulation, students care for a stuffed dog or cat. After each lesson, which is full of activities designed to support children in defining, recognizing and applying each core value, the children transport their pets from their educational setting to home in an adoption pet carrier, documenting and reflecting upon daily experiences with their pet in the Kindhearted Kids Pet Journal. During the program, children learn to make good decisions for people, animals, and the environment through the introduction of the Golden Rule: Treat all living things the way you want to be treated.

The Two by Two Kindhearted Kids Program is so much more than a cute program about pets. The way this program weaves character education into highly motivating lessons is masterful.
