Community Meeting

Bingo Was His Name, OH!

  • Bingo cards (copy and cut, one for each child) - Click here to download

Greeting Objective

The learners will greet each other using the song, Bingo.

  • Gather children in a circle on the floor, legs crossed.
  • Start with the first child. Each child will sing a letter going around the circle, using the chorus from
           the song “Bingo”.
“B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O and Bingo was his name, OH!”
  • As you go around the circle, each child who says “O”, who is also the child who says the last line (and Bingo was his name -
oh!) will say their letter (O) but also their names and will put their legs out straight to show that they no longer sing a
letter (but can continue to help by clapping along).
  • Start the song over and continue going around the circle until everyone has said their name.

Use the following format:

Layla: B
Maddie: I
Tyler: N
Sam: G
Mike: O (“My name is Mike!” (legs straighten out)

I’ve Got Bingo!

Engagement Objective

The learners will recognize their own kind actions with pictures of kindness examples.

  • Give out Bingo Cards.
  • Go over pictures briefly, identifying each action.
  • Children will walk around the room and approach a child, asking if he/she has ever done one of the
           kindness examples.
  • If the answer is yes, they will put an X through the box.
  • Approach another child and ask the same thing.
  • 3 X’s across or 4 X’s down is a BINGO!
